IMACS
is for "Ingénierie MAthématique et Calcul Scientifique"
IMACS is a research and
technology provider with
activities centered on scientific computing and mathematical
engineering. IMACS originated as a spin-off from Ecole
Polytechnique, Centre de Mathématiques Appliquées. IMACS offers
products and services ranging from consultancy to software development,
deployment, maintenance and support to end users.
IMACS has developed over the last
15 years a portfolio of
services and specialized products for numerical simulation, with focus
on vibro-acoustics and electromagntics, and provides its products and
services to leading automotive
and aerospace companies.
Innovation in numerical modelling

Time Domain BEM vibro-acoustic solver SONATE©
Building on research lead at the
Centre de Mathématiques Appliquées of the Ecole Polytechnique (CMAP)
under
supervision of Prof. Jean-Claude Nédélec, IMACS has been the first
company to
develop and propose a robust Time Domain BEM solver, providing a
new tool SONATE©
used in industry for simulations in acoustics, and
which proves to
be much more efficient and precise for multi-frequency problems than
existing
tools. Following the success of SONATE© in automotive applications (PSA
Peugeot-Citroën and Renault), a partnership has been signed with LMS
International, the world leader in acoustic simulations. SONATE© is integrated
in the CATIA V5 based platform LMS Virtual.Lab® since Rev9, and
distributed worldwide by LMS Intl.

Innovation in Numerical Modelling
Development of new numerical methods as Time Domain Boundary Element
Method (TDBEM) for wave propagation problems in acoustics and
electromagnetics.
Numerical modelling of macroscopic material properties for acoustic and
electromagntic applications.
